Grants help renovation work
Church bells across the region are ringing to celebrate a cash
windfall which will help them to carry out vital repairs.
Churches in Suffolk and Norfolk have received between £9,000
and £177,000 from the English Heritage Lottery Fund to carry out
renovation and repair work …
… All Saints' church, in Wickhambrook, will be using its
£160,000 grant (actual grant amount £113,000 - Ed.) to
carry out work on the 14th century building's roof.
The Revd Ian Finn said "The church does need a lot of upkeep.
Our restoration committee has been magnificent in helping us to secure
this grant."
"Without the support of the local community, it would have
been very hard to get the amount of money we have been given."
"I am very thankful for the grant and can't wait to see the
church restored to its former glory." …
